| In our country, we have several idioms. So with my acolytes Leane and Manon, we decided to present you some French idioms compared to English ones! -“A piece of cake!” In France we say “les doigts dans le nez” [fingers in the nose] and I think the French one is way sexier. -“Wet to the skin” becomes in French “trempé comme une soupe” [wet like a soup]. Of course it's because we LIKE soup (you know… The gastronomy cliché thing…) -A funny way to say “to quit” in French is “donner sa langue au chat” [to give your tongue to the cat]... Ok this one tells a lot about French humour… - “To laugh one’s head off” is translated as “rire comme une baleine” [laugh like a whale]. Does a whale even laugh?! - The last one “it rains cats and dogs” is “pleuvoir des cordes” [to rain ropes]. And for once, I think that the French idiom is the less weird! Anyway!
