Lisbon is the capital and the largest city of Portugal, with a population of 552,700 within its administrative limits in an area of 100.05 km².
About 2.8 million people live in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (which represents approximately 27% of the country's population). It is continental Europe's westernmost capital city and the only one along the Atlantic coast.
Nickname: A Cidades das Sete Colinas (The City of Seven Hills), Rainha do Mar (Queen Of The Sea), A Cidade da Tolerância (The City of Tolerance), A Cidade da Luz (The City of the Light).

In Portugal (Lisbon) there is a Science Related Building know as “ Pavilhão do Conhecimento “. It was built in 1998, part of Expo 98, and it was renewed in 1999.
This pavillion is dedicated to every kind of science experience, exploration of the phisical world and is an interactiv center for every age group.

This is Tower Belém in Lisbon. It was built for financial and military purposes in 1519.
It is a fortified tower located in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém in the municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the significant role it played in the Portuguese maritime discoveries of the era of the Age of Discoveries.
